Role: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Production Lead to join their team.

You are passionate about packaging, innovating with technology & process and also driving efficiencies, to deliver the highest quality Artwork Files.

With these ideals you will oversee the day-to-day work of the team in your “pod”, ensuring standards are met and quality is achieved.

Providing studio production support to your team, you will maintain strong communication, working with all members within the group to deliver on client requests in a timely and effective manner.

You’ll support and work with the Production Manager in delivering strategic initiatives and plans into the studio. You’ll also identify and drive innovations in technology for continual improvement throughout the business… all whilst maintaining an artworker role within the team to contribute towards delivery (70% day to day/30% leading, split).

• Responsible for your team and their work outputs
• People management of the team day to day - Holiday sign off, reviews, providing support and mentoring to develop the team, to drive increasing levels of quality to deliver a world-class service
• Training and analysis of team
• Work with the Production Manager to feed in strategic plans, coordinating the creation of support documentation
• Lead team meetings and weekly report meetings
• Creating right first time packaging artwork
• Point of contact for Production, Client and Tech teams for the production studio
• Working in collaboration with Production Manager and other leads, to ensure studio resource is effectively
• Ensure communication and workflows runs effectively throughout the studio
• Working across a range of both creative and technical projects
• Continually review QA process and procedures and identify areas of improvement relating to production
• Help identify, explore and implement technology and process to elevate the business performance to the next level
• Keep production ahead of the competition, delivering excellence

Requirements:

• Experience creating print packaging artwork to a very high standard
• Adobe Creative Suite skills specifically Illustrator
• Vast knowledge of artwork, pre-press and repro procedures
• Comprehensive guideline / toolkit / knowledge bank creation – strong brand guardianship
• People management and ability to mentor and create enthusiasm within a team
• Ability to resolve conflict when needed
• High level of organisation
• Strong project management
• Process-driven and proven experience with implementing changes
• Proven track record in Packaging/Brand Management
• Proven track record of delivery to global brand owners
• Understanding and appreciation of production and capacity management
• Understanding and utilisation of MIS and workflow management
• Experience in motivating teams and developing colleagues or working relationships
• Excellent and up to date print technical understanding
• Strong understanding of artwork production and printing processes
• This role requires regular client-facing and field meetings and the flexibility to operate within the client environment during the working week
